Introduction

YSL is a nonprofit organization, with no school affiliation, which relies heavily on volunteers to coach and manage the various teams.

The primary objective of YSL is to provide a fun soccer experience for kids, in which they will get some physical exercise and learn about the great game of soccer in a low-pressure environment.

Participation, teamwork and skill development are much more highly prized than match results!

YSL is open to boys and girls from any international school, of any nationality and any skill level.

Age groups: 5&6, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12 and 13&14 year olds. Age group is determined by age on 30th Sept. 2006.

In 2006 there will be a Girls Division for girls ages 9-14. (Girls will still have the option of playing on the co-ed teams if they wish).

The rules of play, team size and pitch size are adjusted to suit each of the individual age groups, so that kids of all experience and ability levels can gain something from the activity.

This year the 7-8 year olds will play as one team, rather than being divided in half on game days, in order to help facilitate passing and ball handling skills.

All games and practices will be held at either Victory College or CAC in Maadi.

Parents that volunteer to coach a team receive one free registration for one of their children.

YSL is also pleased to accept offers from high school students, and others that know the game of soccer, that can either coach a team or referee the matches.
